Prayers for our divine master Shrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāja

agyana timirandhasya gyan anjana shalakaya
chakur unmilitam yena tasmai shrī gurave namah

I was born in the darkness of ignorance and my divine master opened my eyes with the torch of divine knowledge. I bow down to him.

 vande ‘ham shrī guruvaram
shrī rūpānugā pravaram
vraja-rasa rasikang cha
nārāyanam tang prapannam (1)

I adore the greatest of divine masters, Shrī Shrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāj; he is the foremost of the followers of Shrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and the rūpānuga-guruvarga, and he is always relishing vraja-rasa—the mellows of love of the divine realm of Vraja, I surrender unto him.

shrī guru-charanang vande
ramana preshthāya bhūtale
rūpānugā bhaktidang cha
kripa murti nārāyanam (2)

I bow down to the lotus feet of the embodiment of mercy, Shrī Shrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāja; he is dearly loved by Shrī Ramana-bihārī, and he gives the treasure of rūpānugā-bhakti, transcendental spontaneous love and devotion to God.

sevā kunje vraje ramye
govardhana girau sadā
rādhā kunde rasānande
tat tat sevā pradāyakam (3)

Shrīla Gurudeva is eternally residing in the beautiful forest of Sevā-kunja in Vraja, at Mountain Giri Govardhana, and at Rādhā-kunda lagoon. There, he is immersed in the bliss of nectarean mellows of rasa, and he grants entrance into the service of Rādhā-Krishna as Their maidservant.

gurung nārāyanākhyam tam
vande vinoda preshthakam
yat pāda smriti mātrena
dāmodara prasīdati (4)

I pray to Shrīla Gurudeva, Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāja, who is very dear to Shrī Vinoda Manjari. Simply by remembering his lotus feet one pleases Shrī Shrī Rādhā-Damodara.

nārāyanam prabhum vande
karunāghana vigraham
rāga-mārga bhaktim dattvā
tārayati tribhūvanam (5)

I offer my respects unto Shrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāja; he is the reservoir of boundless compassion, and he bestows the path of rāga-bhakti, spontaneous transcendental devotion, thus delivering the three worlds.

gaurahari parang-preshtha
nityānanda abhinnaka
shrī-gaura-nārāyana bhakta-
bāndhava priya-sevaka (6)

“Shrī Gaura Nārāyana (gurudeva´s eternal youthful form) is very dear to Gaurahari and is a non-different manifestation of Nityānanda Prabhu. He is the friend of all devotees and the dearest of all his intimate servants, sevakas.”

nārāyanam gurum-vande
sharanyam bhakta-bāndhavam
gaura-manobhishtam pūrnam
rādhā-dasyam-pradāyakam (7)

I offer prayers unto Shrīla Gurudeva, Bhaktivedānta Nārāyana Gosvāmī Mahārāja, who, as Bhakta-bāndhava, the friend of all devotees, is the most worthy shelter for everyone. He fulfills the inner-heart desire of Gaurahari, and bestows rādhā-dasyam, the position of being Rādhā’s intimate maidservant.

patita-pāvana-bāndhava
yugācharya nārāyanam (8)

Shrīla Gurudeva is the foremost of the Āchāryas in the line of Shrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī in the present era, and is the dear most of Shrī Rūpa Manjari. He purifies the fallen souls through his friendship, and he is named the principle spiritual preceptor of this age.
